We embark on our South Asian adventure in just a few weeks. While we put the finishing touches on our planning, we’re also getting together with friends to get advice and eat delicious meals. We understand fresh vegetables and raw fruits will probably not be much on the menu during our trip, so this is a great time to sample winter citrus and eat great salads.
Yesterday friends returning from Cape Cod brought back lobsters and sweet Ipswitch clams for steaming. We made one salad of five kinds of oranges (what a winter bounty! thank you Florida and California!) mixed with shavings of celery, fennel, and red onion; A second salad featured beautiful greens, peppers, cucumbers, fennel and a lemon caper dressing.
THIS was a real nice clam bake.
